That was too hard to resist..

Here's the Chrome Blog, add the RSS feed to your browser and wait. Company based in the West Coast of America, I wouldn't expect it to be released until at least after 5pm our time..

I'd be inclined to forget about it for a day or two, likely to be swamped with download requests initially.
Personally given google's history regarding data collection / privacy I will not be in a rush to invite it onto any of my systems. Bad enough that msft may be looking over your shoulder.
Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

I'd not bother at all. It's only another browser and I'm with tradetime on the privacy issue.

The entire program will be open source, so if there are any built in data collection or privacy issues they will be revealed rather quickly. I would not worry about it too much, just give it a bit of time after release to see if Google put in any unwanted 'features'.

Besides, if it is really violating user privacy in any way, it is likely that open source users, who as a rule care a lot about privacy, will either avoid it or wait for a fork with the offending code stripped out.

That's why open source software is great imho :)

Good point about the Google add-on's. It's likely to be a major 'feature'.

Im interested but I think I will wait a few days, see what feedback we get from other users first. I made the fatal error of d/l IE8 last night, I knew I shouldn't but just had to click that bloody download button. After stupidly upgrading from IE6 to IE7, you would have thought Id learnt my lesson...but NO!!!!, so I will hesitate and hover before i go for Google, Im quite happy with Firefox at the moment.
