My cat Mini is being speyed today, she had kittens a little while ago and I dont think she could cope with that again so she is off to be speyed, my DH is taking her and he has just phoned me whilst they were in the car on the way to the vets and she was screaming her little heart out bless her, I am so worried for her - wish us luck x

We took our daughter's cat to be speyed recently, she yowled all the way to the vet's and my daughter was in tears. As soon as the vet got her her out her basket she calmed down.We picked her up 6 hours later and she slept for the rest of the day.Next day she was almost back to normal. That was three weeks ago and she's now running round terrorising the other cats in the household.I've had lots of cats speyed over the years they've all been ok.It's only natural you'll be worried, she's your baby after all.Just remember what the alternative is.Your'e doing it for her own good.0

I had my [STRIKE]baby[/STRIKE] cat Poppy "done" a few weeks ago and I was dreading it! She happily got in the box as she thinks if the box is out it must be a trip to Nana's which she loves as it's like a holiday for her! I felt very guilty! The vet took her away, then a few hours later rang me to collect her. Apparently she fought the vet to not get back in the box and pee'd on the vet's table before getting in!!:rotfl:
Once she was home, apart from the scary looking shaved bit on her side (which is finally growing back!!) she was fine! I was completely soppy and sat there hand feeding her bits of boiled chicken! Within hours she was fine and running around again. It took her a few days to get back to full loony state but now she's as mad as ever!! I'm glad i did it but like you was completely terrified and guilty!
One thing that I noticed with pops that was a bit odd, after the op her eyes looked a bit strange, sort of flat and very reflective! I'm guessing it was the ansestic (sp?) but nothing to worry about!
Good luck for today and let us know how mini gets on!
