All,
My setup before I tried sorting it all out last night which now doesnt work....:-(
Cable out the ground into a 2 way splitter, one end goes in to a ********* box the other continous to the attic where another splitter is on which goes to the study for the cable broadband. This system has worked for ages and I had no problems. However I wanted to put another box in the bedroom so I have added the following....
I put another splitter which I brought from maplin, F type splitter, and fitted it after the second splitter in the attic. So I now have 3 splitters. The third one goes to cable broadband in the study and now the other to the main bedroom for the arnet box. However when I turn on the cable box the internet crashes and the arnet box doesnt work. PLEASE HELP!!! i have seen another splitter on Maplin for £9.99 which is a satellite splitter but i am now totally confused. Perhaps I shouldnt off put the 3rd splitter in?? I wasnt going to use the 2nd one but one off the outlet which was blanked off said FM hence why i put the 3rd one in!!!
Any advice will be really helpful. I dont want to spend another night in the attic!!! :-)
Cheers
Paul

Good morning,
I have the same set up in my home. 2 cable boxes and 1 cable modem, however i only need 2 cable splitters. I'n not sure why have you got 3 splitters?
What type of boxes are you using?
Is the 2nd cable box confirmed to be working?0 -
Hiya, Its a arnet kyptview box in the lounge and bedroom. yes both were working. Yes i might try and remove the one with the FM outlet on it and see what happens. The interent works fine till i turn the kyrptview box on. Perhaps it is too many splitters. Are you using the F type ones from maplin?0

When we moved house, we upgraded to a V+ box, and then sent us about 25M of cables, but they never took our old NTL box away.
I bought my splitters off Ebay, and they came with the cables needed also. Not sure why there would be an FM socket on a cable splitter though - maybe someone else here can answer it.
I would think 2 splitters should do the job though, as you only need 3 outputs from a single cable.0 -
When you split a signal into 2 it actually halves the signal strength. So the 3rd is probably too much for it. I would recommed a SINGLE splitter box (3 out of 1) and see how it goes from there.:idea:0

Thankyou for all your help. I will remove the funny splitter with the FM output on it and see how I get on. Will keep you posted.
Thanks once again.0 -

The funny splitter with FM on it sounds like an isolator what the cable company uses i would leave that and take the feed for new splitter after itIf you dont like me remember its mind over matter, I dont mind and you dont matter
