Sorry - too late...You can only add Buy It Now to an active auction-style listing if the item does not have any bids and the listing isn’t ending within 12 hours.

edit.... sorry soolin for duplicating what you'd said...
you beat me to it as I was typing my message!

Goodness you've been away from ebay a long while then if you don't recognise the term BIN (buy it Now).

If someone asks me if I have a price in mind I always do it off ebay to save cash, but still always offer paypal.

Did one yesterday as it happens and I've done 100s over the years.

There is no way I associate "have you got a price in mind?" with "could you add a BIN price on ebay for me?".
Character is what you have left when you've lost everything you can lose.

I had this request, so I added BIN. The person concerned then bought the item, and paid me via Paypal. No problem at all.

What you are doing is against ebay policy and each time you do so you're running the risk of having your account terminated.

I DO NOT ADVISE ANYONE TO DO THIS! If you value your ebay account it is a seriously silly thing to be doing.

Ooooo, lets not do anything against the rules of the great god ebay. Lets feed the greedy beast, be compliant and let them bend us over whenever it suits them

6 years of ebaying with thousands of transactions and it's never been an issue.

I must sell 1 in 10 items this way.

You can sell your own belongings to who ever you might choose.

Don't let ebay dupe you in to believing otherwise.

  • I once had redemption code from Ebay too and I was in a hurry to use it as well. Actually it was Paypal redemption code, I think, so I had to use Paypal for this.

good for you, your thousands of feedback will be of no use to you the day someone cottons on to your rule breaking, reports you and you subsequently loose your account. When you joined ebay you agreed to abide by their rules. Break the rules - deal with the concequences, that's all I'm saying.

Of course you can sell your goods to whoever you choose, but if you've listed an item then withdrawn it for the sake of a private sale then it's rule breaking.

I'm only pointing this out for the sake of the OP who is new to ebay. You may well be happy bending and breaking rules, but it's not in the OP's best interests that this is the kind of advice they're being given.

Can I please just remind people again that the OP is a new user on ebay and should not therefore be led into actions that could endanger his/her account.

    Nonsense.

If you enter something in an auction, and then end the auction, you can do what ever you choose with said thing.

Don't let ebay bully you into thinking otherwise.
