Guarantor for renting ?

My friends DD has recently been credit checked for a house with her bf, and they have both got through the check. They have now split up, but she can just about afford the rent.Would it be possible for her still to go ahead and rent the house if her Mum or Dad acts as a guarantor[STRIKE]if needs be[/STRIKE].She is pregnant but will be going back to work , after claiming maternity pay, and will get tax credits etc so will be well able to afford it.

  • Your friend needs to talk to the Landlord and see if he will accept just her as a sole tenant. I'm sure the LL will want a guarantor.

Your friend sounds like she could claim some Local Housing Allowance to.
