You really need to stop yourself getting reinfected.
Make sure avg AUTO updates and run it at LEAST once a month on a FULL scan.
Update and scan with adaware monthly
    Id also recommend SPYBOT ~
    http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html
    (update, IMMUNISE and scan)
And if you dont have a decent firewall I recommend COMODO
    http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/download_firewall.html
(you dont HAVE to have the defense on but it is more secure that way)

Any questions feel free to ask :D

    No worries
Just be aware that when installing programs you read the TICKED parts. Some of them are for TOOLBARS and SETTING HOMEPAGES and suchlike. Untick the garbage thats not needed (And every annoying) when installing
    :)

Decent firewall? - is windows firewall decent? or would using COMODO be better?

is spy bot just like this adaware/malarebytes program?

    Thanks
    Thank you

    Xps is rubbish
Vistas is very good (But the most likely to be attacked)
If you have Xps, I would really advise getting a decent 3rd party firewall

Spybot actually blocks pages and 'pop ups' in Internet Explorer and Firefox, I HIGHLY recommend using the immunise feature

IF you install comodo, I would also advise using the 'defense' mode, if you dont then use spybots 'tea timer' mode
