Printer is very picky

My printer is driving me crazy, it chooses what he wants to print. Will not print in PDF or BT bills but will print emails? Please can somebody help me, I think it has to do with the printer settings!! Thanks

Lexmark Z32, I know it is ancient. If it was not for the spare cartridges I have got, I will throw it away.

how ancient is ancient? if over 5 yrs, say, printers are tremendously 'cheap' nowadays (especially b/w lasers):)

  • I had that model and never had a problem with it at all, just recently I changed to a HP deskjet f2180 and it has a mind of it's own.It won't print and then decides to print everything at once, and sometimes over and over again.I switch it off and it turns itself on again,I swear it's possessed.I would appreciate anyone who could offer me some advice too since the booklet that came with it is no help and I don't know what to do about printer settings.

check the lexmark website to see if there are any updates for the drivers for your printer. if not you can always try uninstalling and resinstalling.

(The only thing to watch for is that lexmark software can attach itself to the rpint spooler in windows, ina way that the spooler becomes dependant on the lexmark software - uninstall can cause this problem sometimes - but there is a way to restart the spooler. - but as you are having printer problems anyway I would say its worth the risk)

Your printer is confused. It doesn't know whether it's an 'it' or a 'he' and acts up accordingly.

    Some counselling should help.

    :D

Failing that, I agree that checking for driver updates might be helpful.
