... you need to get your property marketed on Rightmove at the end of the day. Pretty much everyone I know looks at the this website rather than slog round the high street agents.

Depends on where you are, whether this holds true. Down my way, less than 30% of the available properties are on Rightmove, so people look elsewhere.

It will be interesting to see how the proposed Google property site & Tescos property sites take off. The high street agents will then have to start reconsidering their business models in face of considerably cheaper competition.

Well, Google's 'business model' appears to be merely to link to existing agents' for sale properties via their maps facility......

and Tesco launched their iSold in Bristol (!) a few months ago; it doesn't seem to have set the world alight (or even set Bristol alight), and their 'business model' appears to be to offer a cut-back high-street agency service at a fixed price (some of which appears to be payable upfront, and is non-refundable).

What 'reconsideration of business models' would you suggest, in view of the above.....?

Friend of mine has just put theirs on axeyouragent.co.uk ..... it's a new one site and totally free to list and you can get a for sale sign through them too. They reckon it's got to be worth giving a go.

Is it any coincidence that, barely a day after someone else was chewed out for spamming this site, that you pop up, and with your very first post, want to tell us all about it....?
  • Hi guys,

I'm new to here so apologies in advance if I break any house rules or repeat something that has been asked before.

I am looking to sell my house privately and was wondering if anyone could recommend any of the private websites like mypropertyforsale.com or thelittlehousecompany.com etc? Has anyone used them to sell their house successfully? If so, was their service good/helpful/quick/professional/worth it? And are there any that should be avoided?

I'd like to get my property sold ASAP so don't want to end up paying out lots for a service that takes ages.

    Thanks in advance,

    Sam :)
