DFS: fantastic service

We've had our DFS sofa for over five years and last week the handle on the recliner won't work.

We happened to be passing DFS and I sent my OH in to see if he could get any tips on fixing it.

The very nice man in the Norwich branch said he would arrange for an engineer to call to have a look at the sofa. The visit would be free but we would have to pay for any new spare parts. We thought this was very reasonable as the recliner has been very well used over the past five years.

The day before the visit DFS left a message to confirm the engineer would call the following day between 8.30 and 9am.

The engineer arrived on time, found that the cable had broken and fitted a new one.

This cost us nothing, as the engineer said he had a spare cable.

Well done DFS, excellent service.

I've had good service from DFS too. I know that a lot of people don't have good experiences and it may well be down to the branch, but they replaced both of our sofas after a year, free of charge, when only one was faulty (the leather would not have aged evenly or matched otherwise).

You can't beat DFS, IF you get a really good service engineer and a helpful branch manager.
