If you want it for the gym and especially cardiovascular workouts then hard disk mp3 players are always a bad idea, in fact totally and utterly crap. Get a player which is around half the size of a credit card and has flash memory which is totally jog proof.
Not True ;D ;D
I have an Ipod Mini and go to gym, and run nearly every day with it, and it never skips a beat. I think you will find the Ipod Mini was designed for exercise and gym use. ;D ;D
I used to use a flash memory player and soon got bored with the same songs everyday, but with the Ipod you can listen to anything you like on the spur of the moment. The only thing is I had to buy some Shure EC2 in-ear headphones, as the Ipod ones just fall out all the time.0 -
hmm.. it's probably not a good idea to jog with a HD player though.. they are pretty fragile.. would you run around with your computer hard disk? I think not.. over time you'll damage it.0

I tired running with my PC hard drive like lellie suggested but I found the biggest problem was the monitor was chaffing under my other arm and the keyboard slipped out of my pants0

It may never skip, but you will be shortening the life of the heads that read the hard disk. As one of the other guys said, would you shake a PC's hard disk while using it? They have buffering to stop the skips and are more fault tolerant, but as scotty used to say "you cannae change the laws of physics" If its not solid state you'll be damaging it....0 -
Ordered my 60GB one (half the price of the 20GB iPod at Argos)
Bit bulky but suppose that's cos of the larger HDD.
I've only got 25GB of MP3's so it's going to be a challange to fill it.
Just thinking about it though - will it have the USB cable to connect it up to the PC or may that be missing too. I assume it'll be a standard mini-usb (or whatever their proper name is) to USB cable though and i've got a couple spare so no problem.Alex Jones0 -
i agree
So do I ;DSmile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -
I ordered one and money has been taken from my account. Says order status is 'Back Order' though. Wonder how long that will be? Will call them tomorrow to ask I think.0

Just checked my order status for the 30GB model I ordered and it says....
CANCELATION REQUESTED
This refers to either a request by yourself to cancel the item or circumstances which have forced us to cancel (for example: long-term non-availability).
Anyone else got the same? The 60GB model is still available to buy on the website...Confusing ???The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing:)0
