Capital one extra warranty for a purchase?

Sorry if this has been covered before, i have looked around but cannot find the answer and dont really want to ring them.
I am thinking of buying a plasma t.v. but at the best price it will come with just a one year warranty.
I think if you pay by cc you can get an extra year over and above the 12 month guarantee, is this right?
Also does it apply to all credit cards?
I have capital one and lloyds,they are both platinum.
Any help very much appreciated.

No it's not standard.
We used to have this with our Citicard and they just stopped offering this service a month ago. Shame because it is a nice feature.
