Graphics Card Help

Hiya,

I need a new graphics card, something cheap and cheerful if possible. No-one plays any pc games on it so generally just used for general surfing, emailing, that sort of thing.

Do i need to replace it with the one taken out? It's an ATi Radeon X1300 512mb Hypermemory PCI-Express graphics card. Are there any alternatives please?

Sorry to sound stupid but not really got a clue :o

Windows XP
Intel Pentium D Processor 820
2.8GHz

Not a modern machine but been ok for us so far.

Thank you for any help.

  • If you just need it for surfing etc then the ATi card you mention above will be fine. You only need a shiny dancing faster card for gaming etc.
  • Thank you for your reply, nomoneytoday. Do you know the best places where to start looking for one.

    Many thanks.

All have a good range of pc components. And you can pick which is the cheapest for the card you want.
I've used all four in the past when building my last(current pc).

There are others but that should be enough to start with

By all means, of course you should upgrade if you want, but I'd be inclined to agree with nomoneytoday, the only difference you will notice with that sort of workload is a lighter wallet.

    I wondered that as well.
It can't be because he wants to upgrade it because he asked if he had to replace it with the same one.

But he never said it was dead either.

    Maybe he borrowed it. :D

...................orrrrrrrrr maybe he is putting it in another computer.

    Nahhhhhhhhhhhh............can't be that.

................yeah he borrowed it. That's the most likely answer.
