Mum and I went shopping for a new TV the other day, and they said they didn't have any stands in stock apart from the display one, which they wanted £50 for (the price of a non display stand!). So I jumped in and said do we get a discount for the display stand? No was the reply, so we asked them to check all their other local branches for a new stand. They couldn't find one. So we ummed and ahed a bit, then they turned round and said they'd speak to the manager. We got £15 off the display stand (there's nothing wrong with it!) So basically, we got free delivery on our goods with that discount!!:D
