Warning - Tesco clothing promotions

Bit cheesed off with Tesco today.

They had a rail in a high footfall area of the clothing section with girls jogging bottoms on it. It hard cardboard ends with "buy one get one free" on, and each pair of jogging bottoms had a sticker with "buy one get one free" written on it. Thought it was a good offer, so I picked up a couple of pairs for my daughter.

Paid for my shopping and was checking the receipt and noticed the trousers went through and I didn't get the BOGOF saving. Went to customer services and they pointed out in very tiny writing on the sticker it says "03 September 08 - 30 September 08 inclusive".

I think it's a rip-off putting the promotion out today when the offer doesn't start until the 3rd. I bet many people don't check the very tiny writing on the sticker and feel ripped off like I do :mad:

To be honest I think thats naughty of them, they could have put the rack out but left the cardboard ends with the bogof on and put them on when the offer started,

no harm done as you noticed it and got the refund

The clothingattesco.com website loudly proclaims "beautifully cut suits £15" on a picture of a bloke in a suit but browsing reveals only a jacket and trousers at combined cost of £80.

The top-of-page strapline is "browse online, buy instore". A phone call reveals that they have jackets from £19 and trousers from £6 - still ludicrously cheap (and probably dreadful) BUT why do I have to make a phone call to discover the truth behind their website lies?

My nearest store is a 39-mile round-trip so I want their website information to be accurate, reliable and complete - it's a totally pointless website if I have to phone up to get any information!:mad:

I fell out with them one xmas, they had an entire wall of stock with a huge sign over the top saying 50% off! The display was all kids pens, fluffy photo frames, usual girlie stocking filler stuff. All were shown at full price but with 50% off shelf edge labels. DD filled a basket and was over the moon......until she got to the till.

Turned out only something like 75% of the items on the display were half price, and by law Tescos can put full price items on display with 50% off ones. I was furious with them, especially as all the items were aimed at young children.

In the end DD got all her things half price (probably to shut me up lol) and I told the manager in no uncertain terms they were totally dishonest.
