car insurance rip off!

  • OK now I'm getting the hang of it, maybe I am a bit hasty and wrong to malign my insurance company, or is it just they prefer the credit hire company to present the extortionate bill and in the event that it is paid or they can negociate the larger part of it the excesses are simply stored to fund the referral fees and are referral fees not just a backhander by another name.
From my standpoint as the insured policy holder I view the insurance business as a collective if they departmentalise to avoid certain questions thats fine but it comes down to the same thing, the hire provided is a total RIP OFF. I am quite aware of the increasing cost of insuring your car and see this practice as just another unnecessary and unfair cost inflation.
  • Hi, I have just read your own original message and the various comments...how on earth were you advised to claim from your own insurers? The correct advice is that your own insurance is NOT for the benfit of wrong-doer....thats the law....Your own claims history has now been afected for no reason whatsoever linked to your own conduct...however insurance is the business of collecting premiums and ensuring when payments are made that the costs can be recovered from the market....perhaps this is why insurers advised you to claim upon your own insurance.....Oh yeah....insurance engineers who are more likely these days to be call centre based operating from what 'the computer says' are incentivised to cut the cost of payouts....of course this is not disclosed to the customer.....Oh yeah...another thing....had you used an Independant Claims Management Company that specialises in advising yhou in line with what the law states rather than the commercial interests of the insurance industry then your own policy would never have been effected and an independant engineer who's work is not influenced by the requirements of profit generation would have valued your vehicle at open market rates not what the screen says.....(oh some insurers use two screens to ensure where there is a benefit of price for the consumer from one they report the other screen that is lower...always heads they win tails you lose!)....Turning to the hire vehicle....some Accident Management Companies that were independant have sold out to insurers and pay huge amounts for the introduction of a hire customer....of cours ethis should have been disclosed to you under FSA rules...oh and the FSA rules for insurers state that you should have been advised independantly of the insurers commercial intersts....HOWEVER, the FSA ARE the insurers best pal as the FSA removed all rights for consumer's to complain about insurers conduct when the consumer is the injured third party ....Its true! This is even after the FSA gave assurances to Lady Ashton that they did regulate the conduct of insurers when they contact third parties to try and advise them soas to reduce the claim payout....the practice is called Third Party Capture and the business of advising consumers to minimise claims payouts is called Claims Capping!....Turning to the hire vehicle....you must have been advised as to the daily rate!! its the law....everyone elses comments on the rates per month etc are all in error as the vehicle was a hire vehicle not a lease vehicle....I can tell you that CIS and all insurers attack most aggressively claims from Independant Claims Management Companies when they arrange hire vehicles regardless of the rate.....like all insurers they seek to remove all the professionals operating properly regulated and independant businnesses that advise consumers in the consumers best interests...there are high levels complaints against the FSA for their total failure to ensure consumers are best advised but given Norther Rock there is little chance of the FSA even comprehending the suffering of consumers.....the hire rate IS the rate to hire a luxury vehicle such as the Saab....however....I bet you were never supplied with the services in anmanner that complaied with the law...but there we have it......Insurers have the ear and pocket of politicians and I have never come across any insurance staff that have ever been trained in any regulations....If you want any more pointers to raise a complaint as you certainly have been funding commission payments from the incident.email me...I do wonder if the CIS have provided a solictor to advise you in the claim for any injury or are you are dealing with the other drivers insurers legal representative.....I wont tell you how some of the other practices ensure Claims Capping is alive and well within injury claims...It is all in effect unregulated by The Law Society also!!!!!! chats soon?...ps I have not spell or grammer checked this....
