Hi ,
My parents spend a lot of time abroad (Spain) in their holiday home and my Dad would love to be able to get Radio 4 over there. They don't have a computer and broadband over there so internet is out. Are there any fancy DAB digital radios or something that allows you to hear British radio stations in other European countries?

Buy a satellite system - either Freesat or the Sky version of it & be prepared to have a larger dish0

Last I knew radio two and four are unencrypted on FTA satellite.
Aim the dish at Astra 2b, and they are freely available to anyone with a correctly sized dish and receiver.
Apparently (could be urban myth) it was to placate British officials posted out there who had trouble receiving it).
It's on two separate beams. Which part of Spain are they in? And I'll tell you what dish size you need.
The sky option afaik is not possible legally. Although certainly technically as evidenced by the numerous expat sites that discuss the process.*Make every day Caturday*0 -
Radio 4 on long wave goes quite a way onto the continent, but maybe not to the south of Spain. You do have to endure cricket from time to time.0

They don't have a TV out there so no dish.
I was just wondering if there is some kind of fancy digital radio that allows you to pick up stations from abroad, maybe one with internet inbuilt so you can stream it?MS Stalwart. Used site for >10 years :jMake Do, Mend and Minimise member - focussing on upcycling/repurposing and sewing0
