Hi techie gods, me the complete novice is back.

I have a pop up bubble thing that keeps appearing on my lappy. It keeps saying windows-virtual memory too low.

How do I improve the virtual memory?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou :A

Edit to add-

I think aol is coming into this somewhere. I have had to open IE to be able to come back here. Aol is just totally fecked and won't work.

Really need some help here, I can't be without mse.

Thankyou techie gods.xx

A bit of light reading may help you here. See Virtual memory as a starting point. Without knowing more about your PC spec and what apps your are using it's difficult to say much more but you may just need to delete some temp files and clear your browser cache to free up some space.

    :)

Not forgetting when that little bubble appears and says click here to
fix the problem, when you click on it XP will automatically adjust the amount
of virtual memory, this can take upto 20times until the correct amount is set

But it doesn't Mr.S. If it was that easy I wouldn't of posted here. I ain't that much of an idiot. It doesn't give that option. It just says it is creating it itself. But it is still playing up now and it has had many attempts at it. I've done some deleting and cleared the cache. I will leave it and see if it gets any better after a few more attempts of trying it itself.

    Thanks guys x :A

Ooooooo well I am sorry.... ;)

Maybe if you stopped using the CD tray as a cup holder that might help. ;)

  • How much RAM do you have, do you have a second hard drive and what's your current virtual memory size (sometimes referred to as swapfile or paging file depending on OS)??

If you hit the windows-break keys, then select the advanced tab and in the performance section hit settings, then select the advanced tab in the new window, and hit the change button towards the bottom under virtual memory, you should get a list of your settings. I think that's the info everyone is after...
