Can I apply for 0% Capital One if already have a cashback Capital One Card?

Hi. I applied for the recommended Capital One cashback card around June time and have been using it ever since. However, I'm probably not classed as a good customer as I ALWAYS pay off my full balance every month so they are effectively paying me to have their card. I am now looking at buying a new car and as my limits on credit cards are normally pretty high, thinking about applying for the 0% Capital One card to put the cost on there. However, it has occurred to me that because I already own another Capital One card, they might refuse my application. Can anyone advise on this? Should I just try for the next best 0% card instead and leave Capital One alone? Thanks!:cheesy:

Most companies only allow a single credit card to be held so I suspect you would be refused. You could try and get a card from someone else.

Also note that a lot of car dealers will charge you extra to pay by credit card so it would be worth checking whether they will do so or not prior to applying for a new credit card.

I have twice tried to apply for a Capital One card when I already held a different one.

The first time I was surprised to find they accepted me.

When I tried it again a few years later they rejected me because I was already an existing customer.

So, maybe they have tightened up on this, or it could just be luck of the draw

Thanks for the advice....and you are right about the credit card charge....3%, which came as a bit of a shock as I didn't realise dealerships could do that with credit card payments......

That's what they get charged to put through credit card payments, it's not a way to get extra money.
They're only passing the charge on to you.
