Problem setting up my laptop wireless.

I have had my laptop for over a year now - Dell D600 - I have been using it on my wireless network at home with my lynksys router on virgin media broadband.

Last week I had to re install window as it had picked up an annoying virus. Since re-installing windows xp I have been unable to set up the wireless network again. I am really not very technically minded as you can probably tell so would appreciate some help.

When I set up the wireless network when I first got my laptop all I had to do was switch it on and it stated that it had found my network but it does not say this now.

please help.

Have you tried resetting the ip address?

    Go to start - run
type "cmd" to bring up the command prompt
    Type "ipconfig /release"
    Type "ipconfig /renew"
go to internet explorer - tools - options - connections
goto LAN settings and make sure automatically detect settings is on.
