Question for the Wii knowlegable

I am getting a Nintendo wii as a birthday present for my 2 nieces. I know these type of things rely a lot on after sales, ie you don't get all you need with the console. Can anyone with experience of this tell me along with the console what else I need to buy for two little kids to play, (ie, maybe handsets, chargers, I dunno whatever) Thanx, any advice appreciated.l
Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

You'll probably want to get an extra controller so they can play each other, and some rechargeable batteries for them and a charger. Other accessories will generally depend on the games they have (for instance, you can buy one that turns the controller into a steering wheel for driving games).
That's a very generous gift; can I be your new nephew?

i would suggest an extra controller (but buy wii play as it is a game with an extra controller in with it, and a fun game too) an extra nunchuck (the other type of wii controller to make games 2 handed) Once you have these 2 people can play against each other on the games on the wii play game.
Otherwise i wouldnt suggest you buy anything until you get it out and play with it, so far (had ours 9 months) we havent had to change the batteries too much so havent got rechargeables yet and havent put a memory card in it and the internal memory still has loads of space on it0 -
rechargable batteries aa sizee 2 per wi mote . if you havnot already get a wifi router that is ds compatable or a nintendio usb dongel from game , with 5 minutes of playing mario kart the online issue will rear its head0

Thanx Devizes Not sure if their router is Nintendo compatible, although neither are internet savvy, yet.devizes18193 wrote: »rechargable batteries aa sizee 2 per wi mote . if you havnot already get a wifi router that is ds compatable or a nintendio usb dongel from game , with 5 minutes of playing mario kart the online issue will rear its head
Will look into the battery thing, I have noticed after a quick search that the purpose built wii chargers get a real slating on Amazon reviews as "remote killers" so maybe a normal charger would be best.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

we got a wii not so long ago (great toy) we also bought an extra controller and a charging station that came with 2 battery packs (rechargable) this has saved a few quid in batteries, the charger and battery packs cost a tenner (was an offer at game station)
we also have the wii fit board, and got a battery pack for that as well.
so my advice would be to get an extra controller (and nunchuck) as suggested look for the wii play game as you get a load of little games (fun for kids and adults) and the controller, and look in game or game station for a charging station and battery packs, you can just use rechargable batteries and a charger, but for half decent batteries it might work out more expensive than using the charging station.0 -
Thanx techno.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!
