Thanks to Gordon Brown's change of view on the 10p tax band issue (and a plan to attempt to save his career) anyone who is a normal rate tax payer will get an extra £60 in their September wage packet and then £10 every month following until March 09.
What are you going to spend your's on?) it was blindingly obvious is was unfair and going to hit the lowest paid single workers (who have to pay the same to heat their lounge/cook their tea) disproportionately
THEN they go borrow a shed load of money, mess around with the tax bandings to make some of those affected better off and some still worse off and inadvertently a whole load of people earning 32k+ even better offwith no plan to repay the borrowed money, yet more government debt after Gordon dear sold off the gold reserves to china at $200 when it's now $1000
Then they do more fiddling to show themselves up to be a bunch of F*CKING morons who are so arrogant to assume nobody noticed.... all the while wasting a bunch of money on civil servants to administer the tweaks...

I think I'd put the £60 on Labour losing the next election at the bookies

There's no need to hide your feelings, barnaby - just say what you mean. :rotfl: :rotfl:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I want to say I'm going to treat myself to a Lulu Guinness bag that I saw on QVC earlier, but sadly it will be £60 each of our cards..... then an extra £10 per month for the next 6 months! Boring and practical!;)'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0

If i get this i have decided the £60 will be put towards hopefully spending Christmas in Boston this year. Not very DFW but ithe trip will be around £650 each for my OH and I, so the £60 will make a difference.0

I just had a though about this.
Does this rebate get applied after or before you pay your normal tax.
ie If you work OT or get bonuses, will you get the rebate before or after the tax on these is paid.
I know it will only make a small difference either way, but as that well known supermarket says, every little helps. No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

Maybe I'll put it in the emergency fund, maybe I'll spend, spend, spend - depends what head I have on when it comes!
Can I be dim and ask what happens after April? I didn't really notice the whole 10p tax thing as I had a couple of payrises around the same time, so will we be better off every month from now on?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
