Twisting Currys around our finger?

I guess the title says what I want to do - twist Currys around my (our, with my OH) finger so that we can get the best deal. Have just read the part of Martin's Money Diet book about haggling and I want to know as much as I can. I know this seems like an obvious question then, but honestly my mind is drawing a blank:
Who are Curry's competition? We're aiming to buy a gas cooker and a washing machine from them and want to get a discount, or free delivery by saying something like "Oh, we've seen a washing machine/cooker in COMPETITIONPLACE, somewhat the same price, and probably wouldn't be too much hassle to get delivery free, but obviously we're happier if we get them both from you..."
It's not Dixons, obviously, nor any of their other stores in DSG International/The Dixons Group - so who?
Also, any other bargaining tips would be appreciated, especially drawing on experience with Currys themselves!
Cheers
Ben

I would buy from them anyway, excellent service in my experience. Why do you want to buy from Currys so much?
In the words of Lenny Henry: "You find it cheaper elsewhere... you buy it from them, stop bothering me!"0 -
Comet with their price check0

We found Co-op online to be very competitive – they were the cheapest “known” retailer on the comparison site (as we knew what make & model we wanted) and quoted an “all in” price, including delivery and taking the old appliance away. It was just a case of ignoring the box about extended warranties - a lot easier than telling the persistent sales staff of most retailers where to go!I came, I saw, I did a little browsing.0

Check froogle and kelkoo as well as price runner when you've got s specific item. Price runner is good for finding what you want from the massive selection too..0

Better still, use the pricebots recommended above, print out the best deal and take it to JOhn Lewis partnership and get them to match the price. Then you get the extended warranty from the JL partnership
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
I have staff discount at Currys and still bought a gas cooker £60 cheaper on-line at Tesco!0

Also consider getting both appliances from the same source so that they can be delivered at the same time, saves a lot of aggro. I did this for an oven, hob, hood and dishwasher.
Also search separately and find a "loss leader". Its like bananas in a Supermarket priced low to get you in there to buy other things.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
