Downloading Youtube videos - No sound

After reading a number of threads I have download

i want to copy a few videos from youtube to my phone etc via the computer

slight problem as I have tired a couple now, but when i try and play them back on the PC there's no sound, what have i done wrong

any pointers

Use this method to download them:

You don't need to use any additional software; you can download the videos in mp4 format directly from YouTube, which should work on your phone.

Thanks, but am i missing something, as there is no direct link to download anything
I just get a google search page with various options (1 or 2 I had already downloaded)

I can't seem to download videos with the sound on :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
I've been trying various options now all night

any more tips/advice thanks again

At what point do you get a Google search page?
