Renault Kangoo whistling steering

Hello, my partner bought a 7 year old Kangoo yesterday, we dont know anything about cars and stupidly, let the fact that the dealer had done an RAC check on it, stop us from viewing the service history.

However, since getting it, we viewed the history and its only been serviced twice!! and the service in March this year, needed loads of things doing to it.

Anyway, today we were driving it around the country lanes, and after a couple of hours when I turned left, either whilst accelerating or must moving (not when braking) the car makes a high pitched whilstle noise. What does this mean??

In view of the irregular servicing and our own lack of getting our own independent check done, do you think we should take it somewhere to be checked over? Or wait until the next service which is either 18k miles or 2 years which ever is sooner?
Its done 50k miles, is an automatic RN model if that helps
