They're not mutually exclusive. It's like asking what's the difference between a Ford and a red car. You can have an LCD screen that's widescreen (in fact I'm looking at one right now). Normal ratio is 4:3, widescreen is 16:9 or 16:10. So obviously it's wider. That's all there is to it. Better for movies etc but having a wider screen is actually more natural to the eye for viewing. But of course a 20" widescreen is narrower top to bottom than a standard 20" screen."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
