Water Hammer
MATH
I've recently had a new boiler fitted and since then have had water hammer when running the bathroom hot taps and mixer shower. I assume it must be the cold water enetring the hot water cylinder as the hot is drawn out. The plumber told me to reduce the flow on the main stopcock but this hasn't cured it. Is there anything else I could try or do I have to call the plumber back to have another look? Thanx

You will have a loose washer in a tap,or ball valve.A thankyou is payment enough .0

Just cranking down the stopcock won't usually cure water hammer. In most cases a double check valve fitted after the incoming stopcock followed by a mini expansion vessel will absorb most shock in the incoming main usually caused by a closing ball-valve or concussive tap. As plumb1 says, it may be a loose jumper in your incoming stopcock vibrating because of a closing ballvalve and the above action will eliminate this.0
