I've also detailed this in my br petition. Are you saying I should also tell NR I've vacated or were you just meaning the insurers?
Sounds like you had a good night then - just a shame you can't remember bits!
Thats the Amber Seductress for you!!
Hi Skinty,
Yes, tell NR, and then they'll cover it under their policy; that way you're covered if anything happens. I think they do it as a matter of course when a property is empty, and there are problems with the mortgage being paid, but best not to take a chance. If you can prove that you've kept them updated then there shouldn't be a problem.
Sometimes, it's best that "one" can't remember everything from a night before.:D

Just had a look at Section 10.1 and I have just realised that I haven't added myself or my Dh to this. I only added the kids.
Thanks for bringing this question up, if it wasn't for you I would have done this one wrong.
Good luck for tomorrow0 -

Hi Skinty,
Just to throw a spanner in the works, I've just seen someone on another forum who's had their expenditure allowed today. Again a single person, and for housekeeping/meals at work, she was allowed £300!!

It is done - I'm BR. This is how it went....
I arrived for my appointment one and a half hours early for my appointment. This is not a requirement but rather me being paranoid about running into traffic and being late for my appointment. I rang the BR clerk to check what time I should arrive for my appointment and she said to come along at my allocated time. Up until then I had been completely composed, however, as I hung up I completely lost it and began to cry. Luckily, I had a friend with me and she managed to calm me down. For the next hour we had a wander round the surrounding area to kill time and then we made our way to the Courts.
As we went in we passed through security - just like at airport control. Then we made our way to the BR Section, where I was dealt with within 5 minutes by a very friendly lady who was nothing but helpful. She checked my forms, they were all in order, paid my fees and swore my affidavit. I was then told that I would be seen by the judge between 12 and 1pm. So, we went for a coffee and before we knew it, it was time!
We arrived at the district courts section and I let the usher know I was there. I was called into the judges chamber within 20-30 minutes. The judge looked through my forms, asked a few questions, I said yes a few times and he then declared me br - all within a few minutes. I felt numb, no tears - nothing. I made my way back along to the br clerks office where I was given a copy of my petition which also had my br number on it and told the or would be in touch within 2-3 days. And then I left.....
As I sit here typing, I still feel wierd as it doesn't really feel real yet. However, the knowledge that this a fresh start is a good feeling.
I'm keen to have my or interview to establish whether I get to keep my car. I don't think I will be able to from what I've been told by the CCCS and read on this forum. I'm prepared for it happening though.
So, you lovely people, all thats left is for me to offer my most sincere thanks for all your support over the last few months. You really have been absolute stars! Thank you.
I will continue to post about what happens from here as I do want to give something back in the hope that it helps someone else in a similar situation.
Next stop - OR-ville! Yikes! :eek:ALWAYS HAVE A PLAN B
