Applying for 2 Credit Cards, Bad Idea?

Hi there,
I want to apply for the egg money and amex plat cashback cards, so i've got cover for most retailers on cashback.
Is it a good idea to apply for both at the same time, or should I stagger it?
I could do with both in about 5 weeks time (if accepted  ).
Thanks.

If your credit file is in good shape, then there's no problem in applying for two cards at once.
If you're not sure, then apply for the most important one first (because the second may see the first's credit search).
Personally I've applied for 4 in a lunchtime before now, and I know of others who have done as many as 7 at once.
EDIT: Halifax have just launched a cashback card. It offers 2% on groceries and fuel, and 0.5% on everything else. This might be a better option than Egg Money depending on your shopping habits?

Really and what would you need 7 cards for!! keeping them organised would be hard work eh..0 -
I have also applied for several cards on one day and had 100% acceptance rates.
I think YorkshireBoy's point about each provider not necessarily seeing the seach of the other providers is a good one and provided your Credit File is good I think this blitz type approach can be very successful.0
