18185/1899/18866 probs calling USA

I've been using 18185/1899/18866 to call USA landlines and cellphones for several years from 3 registered UK phones. For about a month I have been unable to call landlines in the AT&T area of Texas. The "this call is 1/2 p minute" announcement is much delayed and the line then becomes unobtainable. Calls to Florida landlines are OK. Cell phones (on the Cingular network is all I've tried) are fine. Anybody else having problems? 18185 say their stuff is in order, but they don't seem very interested.
