    hi

I am a member of weightwatchers, I joined in may and I have lost 26 pounds so far  Its the first diet I have ever stuck for more than a couple of weeks, I still have loads of weight to loose but I know with determination and time I cant get it off, I am doing the points plan so nothing is forbidden, if you fancy a bit of choc, you can have it, just count it in your points :)

    I would recommend it :)

try the 'general motors' diet - its a detox. i have lost 6lb which is not alot but i didn't have alot to lose, as im 8st 7lb now. the main thing really is after your diet to make sure you dont go back to bad habits & always exercise!! pot - kettle- black, come to mind (i hate exercise). good luck, you do lose weight with the worry of the wedding but try & have fun x

Check out the low carb thread on this forum - it took me just 6 months to lose 2 stone without much effort.

    ;)
  • I did the Guardian Eat Right diet a couple of years ago, I decided I needed to pay out some money to make myself do it properly and this worked. It's basically ediets, the same one that Tesco uses.

I don't think it matters which one you use, but for me knowing I had spent money on it made me more determined to do it.
Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!
  • I've started the 3 day diet, like it says diet for 3 days with the set meals (really easy food that you probably already have in) then eat sensibly for the next 4 days and so on. I lost 5lb last week and started my 3 days again today! Its soooo easy!!

Firstly don't panic. You still have 9 months, and even 2 stone is 28 pounds, so if you can lose a pound a week you'll be there in plenty of time. That sort of rate of loss should be achieveable. Do you do much exercise at the moment? I found that the best thing for me to lose weight, combined with being sensible about avoiding lots of snacks and unhealthy food. I got a little stepper which didn't cost much and I could do at home in front of the TV.
  • i joined that foodfocus a week ago, have lost 7lbs, which i am in awe of....

i have also got myself a wii fit (well, it's for my dd for xmas, so having to hide it!), and using that as often as i can! that also weighs you & helps with other stuff...

just whatever you do, don't squeeze into the dress if it doesn't fit you.. there's nothing worse!!!

i have found exercise to be the best thing, especially if you are like me and cant keep away from the choccy biccies!! i go to yoga once a week, swim once a week and try to go for at least one walk a week (although i havent done that in a few weeks - v bold!! )
i also found after becoming a vegetarian almost two years ago that the weight dropped off me without even trying!! even if you dont want to do that, maybe just cut down on the amount of meat you eat?

good luck with it, and let us know what worked for you!!
    xx
