in Credit cards
Hi there
I am currently travelling in australia and have managed to accumulate a 4k balance on my LloydsTSB credit card. the current costs of this are about 120GBP a month. I have no money left in my Lloyds savings account to make the monthly payments, so i am currently sending money back from my australian bank account in order to meet the payments.
The last transfer i did was for $300, plus a $30 fee, which converted to 137GBP once it reached my account. I have therefore decided i need to get this sorted or im going to be spending a lot of money and getting nothing back!
So basically ive thought about transferring the balance to a new credit card to cut off/cut down the monthly charges, and would like some advice as to whether this be the best way forward?
And does anyone know of a better (and cheaper) way of transferring money from my australia account (currently with Westpac) to my Lloyds account? Witht he exchange rates it seems fine spending British money over here, but once you try doing it the other way round it doesnt seem so great!
any advice would be great
cheers
