silver backed loft insulation blocks - okay for floor?

Hi,

I have some left over loft insulation - it's the modern stuff which is like a board or block of foam with silver backing.

I've recently put in some floor insulation which looks very similar but it was a lot thicker.

Now I have another floor - inbetween floor joists and am wondering if the loft stuff would be okay to put inbetween the joists (it's a ground floor room) to help insulate and reduce noise.

Just not sure whether the loft stuff would be okay for this - please does anyone have any thoughts?

Many thanks in advance.

  • I presume the board has the manufacturers name and the model of the product on it?

If so check their website, they all generally have technical information on what the product can be used for and how to use it.
