Good Savings Account Advice

I'm having the most terrible luck finding a good savings account.
I had one with First Direct but it only gave 4.75% so looked elsewhere. I then found Tesco.
There were great with Faster Payment transfers in and out, but after a clitch up with their system I couldn't access my account and as it was a internet account they wouldn't allow me access to my money any other way.
They sent me 8 activation codes in error, which cancelled everyone out and so after 34 days still no access to my money. So after complaining to the CEO of Tesco Finance I got my money and closed the account.
I then saw AA giving a good rate of 6.28% so went with them, yet they have now lost my first initial deposit as I was given the wrong account number to do a BACS transfer to and because they use Birmingham Midshires as a clearing bank they have no idea how long it will take to trace the money as AA only work or are open (in tracing funds) 8-4 mon to fri.
So eventually once this gets sorted I'll need to find another account. At the moment the rest of my money is sitting in my Lloyds TSB Classic Plus account earning 4%.
Basically I need an account I can transfer money to and from online and set up standing orders to. One account that has only a few passwords to remember, AA has 5 and all very obscure questions, one that has a good rate and with a good bank.
Any suggestions, ideas?
