British Gas withdrawing Click 5 for new customers
BG did not put up click energy 5 prices when they did there most recent price hike. I am in process of switching to npower who were going to be 150 a year cheaper but now are £200 a year more. Rang BG to see if I could cancel transfer but they said too late but offered to sign me up as a new customer on click energy 5 but advised that it is no longer available via comparison sites as it is being withdrawn and will be off the BG site when they reach a certain sign up target. So if you want to switch to this tariff go for it now on the BG site.
I think....

Hi michaels
Can I ask which npower tariff you were switching to? I'm also in the process of switching to npower - SOL12 - and the new prices for this aren't on their website as it seems to have been replaced by the (much more expensive) SOL13.

In all probability, when Click energy 5 is withdrawn, Click energy 6 will get launched with Click energy 6 becoming the cheapest BG online variable rate tariff.
Click energy 5 prices will increase, British Gas have been merely waiting for all the other suppliers increases to kick in before raising click 5 energy prices, thus avoiding mass migration from BG.0
