FAO Tax credits advisors out there...!

Hi

I have found myself in the position where I have had to make a new claim to CTC and WTC due to seperation. I phoned up on Bank Holiday monday and did a telephone application. How long is it likely to take? Is there much of a bank log?

Also if not sorted in next couple of weeks what is the procedure for an interim/emergency payment these days?

Thanks

shouldnt be taking this long! I called at the same time and got my award notice last week. no children involved though.

call them Monday and confirm if there is anything else they need to know or anything they are waiting on.

would ask about interim payment when you call.

    Hello MRS TO BE,

If you have completed an application over the phone and it has been sent to be processed I would think it will be in payment within 2 weeks or so. Advisors cant give timescales as their are non available, but I would think that's a fair timescale. Aslong as your claim isnt selected for compliance and nothing else holds it up. With regards to interim payment, you will NOT get one. Your claim has to have been processed before you meet the criteria for interim payments.

    What Hotblu said is correct.

The bank holiday was only 6 days ago, it takes a bit longer than 6 days to process most claims!

2 weeks is the only timescale the adviser can give. And even then TCO only "aim to process your claim within 2 weeks". It may take longer if the claim is chosen for a compliance investigation.

If you give them a call today (open 7 days) you can check if there is any progress or if they need any further information on the phone.
  • Hi I rang again and they confirmed all info required has been provided so should be straight forward.

I was just wondering what the standard processing time is. Where i work its 14 days (income support) although of course there is always a backlog.....sorry head of work not allowed to say backlog anymore as its a swear word!!! If a customer rings we have to process if due or do an emergency payment. I should be okay for another fortnight but then the rent is due again.

What does your compliance procedure involve? how will i know if my claim is selected?
  • We have a standard timescale of two weeks and we cant say any more.

If you have been chosen for a compliance check you will receive a letter from a claimant compliance officer asking for a whole load of documents - believe me you will know if you have been chosen!
  • Cheers guys. will give them a call again next week!
