The first Bank Holiday in May is the better one for me. Staying over on the Saturday & Sunday is a great idea, as that would give us more time to relax & enjoy ourselves. I don't mind waiting until then to meet up, as we've got Christmas coming up in a few months & I'd like to get the expense of that out of the way before thinking about other expenditures.
Staying at the Three Pears is fine with me too - the staff were very helpful & the rooms were perfectly suitable. Perhaps we could ask them if they'd be able to let us check in a bit earlier - 2pm is quite late in the day, & with people travelling quite a distance, even a 12 noon check-in would allow a bit more time to get freshened up & rested before dinner. I know they've got to get the rooms ready after the last occupants have left, but I think an earlier check-in would be useful for some people.Maybe they'll offer a bit of a discount for the numbers of us staying, especially as we've been there before.
