List cards with fixed daily limit.

Hi folks,

Skycard £1000

Found that out when I was trying to pay for a >£1K purchase and it instantly disabled my card for any use for the day. The £1000 daily limit applies to all Skycard account holders. So plan ahead which cards to use for your Christmas shopping so you don't get caught out by the limits.

Please list other cards that you know have fixed daily limits. Cheers!

I don't think this type of information will be in the public domain. It is to help fraud prevention and a lot will depend on the type of card held, how long you have held the card, what your normal shopping habits are etc etc.
Some will decline large transactions straight away by giving the shop assistant instructions to telephone an authorisation centre who will ask security questions before proceeding.
You may have just been unlucky.

there is a limit on number of transactions and spending amount per day for all debit and credit cards for the cardholder's own safety. You can call the card provider in advance to check this and have it changed to something you feel more comfortable with if you wish, say for a one off purchase for instance. I've done it before then they change it back to the lower 'safer' level

The customer service operator said that the £1k limit applies to all Skycard CC holders and that there is no way around it. She suggested I spread my purchase over multiple payments. The daily limit could not be lifted or changed temporarily. I've had my card for 5 months.

Hi this can't be true,as this august i spent around £1,900 in a sinlgle transaction to pay my hotel bill in toronto, with my skycard.I'd only had it a couple of months then as well.

I can confirm after speaking to two Skycard customer service operators that there is a £1000 daily spend limit for all account holders. Happy Christmas shopping!

Well, it sounds ridiculous to me. I'm not stating that it isn't the case, just that it's a stupid idea, IMHO.

I paid for a £16,000 car on my Cahoot debit card and it went through first time - no questions asked, no additional security requirements, nothing. Even the motor dealer was surprised!!

I personally think this post should be locked/deleted. nothing to do with the people posting on it but this is giving away too much info on various banks cedit/debit card security procedures and we shouldnt be assisting the criminals/terrorists that card out this kind of fraud.

I paid for a £6000 car on my cahoot debit card and it got declined first time round - quick call and few questions later all went through.
