Neither of these two remarks makes much sense. Nor have you answered my query as to why you repudiate other products.

As far as I know its the only product which does voip with Pocket Pcs.
BexTech had already suggested other products, and using SIP to make free calls with those companies and Pocket PC based software

If I want to know about people's experience with the firm formerly known as Xten, now CounterPath, and other interesting products, clearly I'll get a less rude and dismissive answer from elsewhere.

2AX, Bextech was not reading Fraserca, Mobile 2003 is not Windows XP, hence voipcheap and voipbuster can't be use (at least not on mobile 2003.) Nor can sipdiscount cause it is not an ATA Sip device. "BUT" he said "to his knowledge" and you told him a solution to use those companies, later Hence why when you said your first message he said about what he said is clear enough. Anyway Fraserca, 2ax gave you to that link to that software. Have you downloaded it and tried it? Cause if it works on your mobile 2003 it would reduce your charges drastically and I myself might get a mobile 2003 (already got 2002 which can't be used) :-(.

I see what you mean; I'd overlooked BexTech saying XP- was that a slip?. And I didn't know which would or wouldn't run on WM2003. There must be several other operators that can be run on WM 2003 with Xten though.

Like you, I'm interested at a distance. My PDA is old, so maybe I'll think of a new one. I asked Sipgate nearly a year ago, and the reply was that he didn't know anyone using it on a PDA - I hope that's changed by now.

Well 2ax don't know if it was a slip or was he thinking he had a laptop or something. Since I know some ppl have made customised Windows XP for laptop some have got it to run from a 256MB SD memory card I think is the size :-). And yeah since you brought up the Xten there will be loads that can work through that hence through the WM 2003. Can use FWD, sipgate, to name just two more. Might this weekend look at getting a Orange C550 on one of my everyday 50 contracts. Can use it for DIVX portable player as well. :-), Have to work out would this be quite a cheap way to make calls from say Italy, russia, Thailand etc back to UK using GPRS / EDGE through VOIP (using WM 2003 + XTEN + voipcheap/sipdiscount) to landline. The only charge would be GPRS charges. Could someone a) see if this software work with the Orange C550 (must be quite a few ppl got that now on the OVP virgin upgrade) :-) and b) can work out how much bandwidth it will take hence can work out the charges of GPRS. at the moment when I go aboard I use GPRS and MSN. That save a bundle!

What program or service is this that runs in Windows Mobile 2003 other than Skype?

Tell me and I'll try it and report back.

I'm no fan of corporate consumer management and quite happy to use small players.

It was Windows Mobile 2003, they just told me it was a CE type version of XP it was running, found out last night it was Windows Mobile 2003!

SIP Discount and VoIP Buster can be run on it, but not VoIP Cheap as that requires the VoIP Cheap software.
