Radiator or heated towel rail - which is better heat wise

    There is no reason why you can't use a rad, The only thing I would mention is that a towel rail would hold more towels than a radiator. If you use a rail, then get one that you can mount well clear of the wall. This enables you to put stuff on it more easily. I made some spacers at work, but obviously this option is not available to most people.
    I can afford anything that I want.
    Just so long as I don't want much.

    If you put a large towel on the towel rail, you get a warm towel and a cold bathroom!

    the top of the towel rad is designed to warm the towel

    the bottom half is designed to heat the room

    try to avoid the likes of b&q there are fewer bars and are off a poor quality

    i would recomend PTS for towel rads, there own brand BOSS are manufactored my stelrad and are finished well, priced well to

    We have a tiny bathroom and a very tall towel rail. We hang two towels on it and it still gets the bathroom really warm, plus is great for drying the towels out in the winter (otherwise I find they tend to stay damp all the time).
  • Wow thanks everyone for advice. Was talking to one of our neighbours and they've just had a towel rail put in and she said I could go round and see how much heat it put out (her bedroom is same size as ours). So will do that and take it from there - thanks for all the tips - much appreciated! :T
