Hi
Quick question - With an equal amount of experience to decent certs (ccna/p ccie) what is the range of salaries that someone who worked in networking could earn?

Depends on a whole range of factors: company size, company location, how much they need a networking person, how little they can get away with paying, and so on.
Unfortunately, this is really a 'how long is a piece of string' question, and you would need to look at job adverts in the relevant periodicals/websites for the location you wish to work for a better idea.0 -
Have a look at www.computerweekly.com they do regular salary lists and reviews.
Off the top of my head between 20K to around 40K I'd guess, however it's based on a multitude of factors, ranging from the company you work for (size, sector etc), to how qualified you are - and more crucially in IT how much experience you have (experience counts for much more in IT). It's unlikely you'd get higher than 40K IMO, as the salaries would then move into consultancy and management, which will always earn the higher fees, technical side always earns less.0 -
hmm.. CCNA.. i got interviewed for a job, which required said certificate, got offered it too, 18K... in York... oh yeah.. location affects wages too.. !
CCNP over 30K, but people also want experience.. so the best thing to do is get a CCNA.. you can study for this through the open university, and then you have to do the final exam yourself.. total cost about £600..
get a job, and then hopefully the company who you're working for will help you get the CCNP and work your way up the ladder..
Me.. i took a different route after taking the CCNA course...
