Contractual Query (silly question)

This may be a silly question, but can somebody confirm whether I am being thick.
I have an extenstion starting and the builders are arriving on Monday. I have a contract from the builder and I have just noticed:
Domestic Building Contract (Scotland) for Minor Building Work.
I live in England! It says that the contract is governed by the laws of Scotland!?!!?
Am I missing something (e.g. do Scottish building laws apply in England)? .....or is this just blatantly wrong?

If you are happy with the contract it doesn't matter whose Law the contract is written under. You could ask for it to be under Japanese Law - it's up to the builder to accept it though !0

...but doesnt that mean I'll have to drag the builder through the Japanese courts in order to enforce anything? ...and likewise through the Scottish courts in my case?
Presumably the only sensible option is an English contract?0
