Incapacity benefit suddenly stopped

No, I have definitely been told that it is not an option, The DWP may well say I am fit for work, but that is only because the information I gave was wrongly entered onto the form. I am not going to sign on (fraudulanty) as I really can't go out to work due to my condition. I am sure that it might be some kind of test to separate the genuine from the scroungers, because if I was a "scrounger" then I wouldn't care whether the money I got was called JSA, Incapacity Benefit or Income Support, so I would just take whatever I could.
Please don't take that the wrong way anyone who claims those benefits, because in no way am I saying that people on benefits are scroungers, but the ones that do play the system really and truly wouldn't care less where the money comes from.what goes around, comes around...........0 -

What you have been told is wrong.
What dmg and myself have said is correct.
If you dont believe us check with a welfare rights officer.
You would NOT be signing on fraudulently.
It is not a test to find "scroungers".0 -
Stazi, one of the reasons for my question is that I have read on here, and heard from a colleague (I have worked on and off in the NHS all my adult life) that there are incentives to get people off benefits by playing points down. I had this said to me by someone married to a doctor who does this 'on the side' he is a GP the rest of the time (as if he doesn't already earn enough!!!) I didn't really believe it until I saw a post on here saying the same thing. The agency employing the doctors (and nurses you say? I could do that job!) give an incentive, which suggests they are rewarded by getting the numbers down-if not by direct payment incentives then by keeping the contract?
It's a difficult subject as there are people who would be able to do some type of work who recieve IB and the fact that some do get work when refused benefit proves that I suppose. I just feel awful about the genuine folk who are thrown off benefit.
I have a severe bowel condition and arthritis,I have recurring attacks of erythema nodosum (in fact I ended up in a wheelchair for a week earlier this year as it is getting worse) yet I managed to work with small episodes of sick leave for 30 years. I did have supportive employers-which makes a huge difference.Employers seem to have hardened now. I am awaiting surgery and made a tentative enquiry about a job I was overqualified for a while back. I was honest about my situation and also pointed out that once I have the surgery,my gut will be gone and not there to cause ill health. Despite the fact they didn't offer sick pay for the first 6 months and it would be a short term reviewable contract I was advised-in the nicest possible way-that it would be pointless to apply as many people without health issues had already been shortlisted. I can only hope that once I am 'fixed' SOMEONE will employ me as I hate to think my career is over before I'm even 50!
I am ignorant on this (and lots of other issues!) is there help to try to match people with working limitations with jobs that can accomodate that or ae these folk-who may well have been out of the employment system for many years-left to try to find such work themselves?
Sorry for the long post!Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0 -

As i said earlier, only the Govt has a 'target/wish', and ATOS (or their Dr's)could not, otherwise this would no doubt lead them open to legal challenges (about their DWP contact).
The examination process has to be fair, and seen to be fair, and opinions can be changed by a Decision Maker (with new evidence), or by an appeal hearing. If the system is so wrong/bad, then every appeal would be successful - they are not.
Remember also, the people that are complaining are the ones that have been disallowed. Of course, people won't like the decision, but it also doesn't mean that the decision to disallow is always wrong.
In your case, you could contact your local Jobcentre and ask to see a Disability Employment Advisor (DEA), who are there to help disabled people into employment.0 -

What if like me, I have been disallowed, but not due to me being deemed fit enough to work, but due to the fact that the "doctor" or whatever he was, wrote down different answers to what I stated? And I am now left awaiting an appeal and with no money coming in as when I contacted the Jobcentre they told me because I was married and hubby works I am not entitled to income support (which I already knew) and that I can't claim JSA as I am not "seeking work" ? Its a lose, lose situation for me, and its no wonder I feel bitter. Now I am trying in earnest to find a legitimate work from home job (my condition stops me going out to work) but so far haven't had any luck. I hope whoever stitched me up is happy with themselves.what goes around, comes around...........0
