Removing cat hairs from fleece throws.

I have 3 cats :D
I put fleece throws on the back of chairs to stop muddy paws ruining them but they are very hairy and hairs won't hoover off or come off in WM.
I seem to remember seeing a post some time back on MSE about putting a piece of sponge in the machine to collect them.
Am I dreaming
I have tried numerous searches but can't find the relevant post.

Hairs will usually come off in a tumble dryer better than a washing machine

    shave your cats :)

i use the sticky-tape hand roller things - Ikea sell them, they cost about £1 each. i also have a very good Miele hoover which does a good job too - despite all this, i can ever actually get them hair-free!

ia lso purchase throws and fleeces wich are similar in colour to my cats - this makes any strays hairs that the Miele couldn't pick up, less obvious

i will be following this thread with interest...

Get some wide sticky tape and use that. Just cut off a foot at a time and keep going till it's covered and start again.

I have got a lint roller but was looking for a less labour intensive solution..lol
  • Its not less labour intensive, but have you tried rubbing over the throws with a rubber glove?..
It works on sofa's, carpets etc so might be worth a try...
