Peugeot 206 boot not opening

Hi,

I have a Peugeot 206 hatchback and the boots not opening. The remote locking opens the doors no problems but the boot doesn’t unlock, unfortunately the boot can’t be opened with the key its only operated by the central locking.

Any thoughts what it could be or what I should look for?

I can crawl in to the boot and will be removing the trim this weekend to take a closer look.

Loose wiring or duff solenoid? Whilst you're in the boot, operate the remote locking and see if you can here a clunk. If you can, the solenoid is working and it may be a rod that's come adrift.

odd, check fuses and connections

check theres nothing blocking the connections,some (not sure about 206) have copper contacts on both mating surfaces and can corrode,make sure they are clean.
also as conor says listen for the solenoid making a noise if it does then its most likely the rod from the solenoid has come off,easy to repair.
if the solenoid doesnt make a noise check (with the boot closed) that you are getting power (12v or above) to the solenoid wires with your multimeter.
