Disputes Department - Reclaim (trying to!)

Hi I would really appreciate anyones help! I booked a flight with zoom airlines, who just announced yesterday that they have started administration proceedings!! The flight was for my girlfriend to come over from Toronto for 2 weeks at the end of september & it was all & everything that the both of us have been looking forward to. I phoned my high street banks credit card line & after half an hour on hold before speaking to anyone, they told me I have to write to their disputes department to try to reclaim my money. I would appreciate any help with wording this letter so I have a good chance of getting my money back - (and also if anyone knows of any other company with flights from Toronto - Belfast). Kind regards, Bryan

As you've used your credit card you're covered. You should get your money back.

Lots on Radio 5 Live about this right now. Expect a bit in the press too.

    Good luck

At least you weren't sitting on the aeroplane waiting to taxi to the runway when they went bust and all their planes grounded.

You are entitled to get your money back under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.

Bryan, I would also advice getting in contact with Trading Standards. If as I suspect you are in the Belfast area, contact Northern Ireland TS for a liquidation or administration letter. I think you can also download it off the Companies House website. Send that with your letter. It should help the enquiry.
  • Just want to say thanks to everyone who has posted! I really appreciate it! Hopefully everything will get sorted out & one way or the other I get to see my girlfriend! :)

    thanks again!
