  • sorry to hijack this thread but we've decided to go to the manor for my little lads birthday (he's thomas mad!).

when you pay for your tickets is everything available then or do you pay separate for each part. eg, thomas land, zoo...

    thanks
If your lucky enough to be irish, your lucky enough ;)
  • Hi, it's all included in the entrance price. You buy entry tickets then put them through a machine on the gate. Once you're in through the gate that's it.

How old is your son? during term time you can buy a cheap adult and toddler ticket, I paid £14 last time I think.

A tip I was given for riding on Thomas - if you walk through the zoo then go to the excellent playpark (Spencer I think it is, one of the Thomas characters anyhow) you can catch the Thomas train back to Thomas land. The queue for the train is much shorter at the park end than it is for the outward journey from Thomas land to the park.

  • untill thomas land was built i wouldnt have rated it much for the little ones so no wonder they get in for free but otherwise i think it is good value for money. when i went they were handing out free lollys and stuff. the only ride with a huge queue in july was the kids rollercoaster, i stood for 30mins whilst pregnant in the heat and gave up as i hadnt moved anywhere, i figured it would take at least two hours to get to the front of the queue:eek:
otherwise though the queue turnover was pretty rapid. id allways stick to low season now

I went to drayton this summer and really enjoyed it - I had no trouble getting on any ride (max 15 minute wait) the weather was great . I had been to alton towers a couple of weeks b4 and the queues were endless there and i never managed to get on more than one or two rides that i had never been on.
True that Drayton does not specialise in the white knuckle rides:eek: that alton does but I really enjoyed the park and would go back deffo.
The zoo part did look a bit run down and I am sure would benefit from a few bob spent on it , if fact if i was in charge would become a priority .
Overall i was very pleased with the place:D
Price could have been lower but i had some kellogs vouchers:T which brought it down to £12.50 or so PP

15 mins - thats not so bad...

Looks like Drayton Manor is OK if you go when its not so busy then !!!!

But take it from me, if its busy, they honestly dont have a clue...

I know that there are people on MSE who would take it if it was in their town, but here there are just hundreds of cleaning jobs unfilled and nobody wants them.

Probably because the pay is crap.

The UK seems to be a place where only sit-on-your-!!!!-and-do-nothing jobs are well paid.

  • I took my boys to Thomas Land on Monday and they loved it. It was failry warm, dry at least and as it was the day before they started school i thought it would be nice for all to go out as a family.

I traded in clubcard vouchers for 2 adults total- 11.50pounds. Did not pay for them as 19 pound each is extortion so they were still "3". (I know i'm naughty)
I managed not to spend any more- i did not buy a thing- as they do not need anymore toys, i bought lunch outside Drayton Manor which cost 10 pound and thats all i spent.:T

As most schools had gone back, queues were minimal and they went on every ride and we did the zoo.

The toilets were terrible, i must admit, but overall it was a fab day for them!
  • glad you had a good day :T

my sister pretended her son was still 3 until he was 5 :rotfl:

my 3 year old is massive so he gets asked his age by everyone, we take his birth certificate to alton towers.

infidel i remember a couple of years ago during the fireworks a ride op on maelstrom said she'd done a 12 hour shift on minimum wage, and she was only a teen so the wage wasn't high.
