Thanks for the post, but I went to buy one of these today in-store and the guy said that they have been recalled due to a problem with the battery connectors.
Can anyone confirm this?? They still have it for sale on the web site. Has anybody got this one and how have you found it?

It's ok, I've just called Maplin and they confirmed that there was a faulty batch and that if my local store had only this batch then they wouldn't sell me one.
I've ordered one over the phone instead and the girl said it was free delivery so I could always take it back to the store if it doesn't work.0
