Setting Up a Website

  • I've just bought a website in a box kit called Mr Site, only £15 from Amazon (I think it's £35 in PC world!). Read loads of great reviews about it. It has everything you need to set up your own website and you get your own .com name of your choice (providing no one else has it!). You can watermark photos, add a paypal shopping cart and make changes to it at any time.

I haven't tried it yet but am looking forward to starting my website over the weekend. It looks great and says that you don't need any previous knowledge of website building.

I've done a couple of Squidoo pages and a google site, but I thought it was about time to go that bit further and try a proper website.

Has anyone else had experience in using this kit?

I'll let you know how I get on.

My website is a Mr Site one.

I spent all one weekend playing it with and was rather impressed with my original site. Since then I have completely overhauled it.

I was able to put my own header in, I have made use of the widgets to put adsense and analytics on, plus other things.

I like the fact that I can edit the pages, but no have to upload it till I am ready.

It also has a paypal shopping cart facility on there.

I got it from Staples for £24.99 and at present see no problems at all when it comes to renewing for another year.
  • Thanks Jo, I've just looked at your website through your homepage link. It looks great. I hope mine will look as good as that! You have inspired me to get started on it.
