HIYA,
not sure if i have the right place for this, so im sorry if its the wrong one!
i am in the process of designing a website,
is there any ways that i can make some money from this?
i would like people to join up to the website, and subscribe to it for a small fee.
would it be easy to set up?
thanks everyone

what are they subscribing to? what do you offer?
you need to take into consideration your hosting costs (i can help you with this if you need help as i have my own hosting account )
if you are designing this yourself then you dont need to take the web design cost into consideration but you need to make sure you advertise and are offering people something they are willing to pay for.:rolleyes:september:£22 jackpotjoy,screensaver,£50 thomas cook voucher0 -
Hello all,
I have an idea for a business that I think would work quite well in my local area. The main component would be a website, and it would need to look fairly professional and be maintained/updated regularly.
Whilst I am au fait with computers, I have no web design skills whatsoever. I looked at getting a company to design a page for me, but the costs were out of my range.
I was wondering if anyone knew either any easy to use programs where I could design a website, and a good book/manual that would show me how to get started?
Thanks in advance,
Jambon0 -
i can help you, i don't have a program but i design websites and have a hosting company ( i cant post the link because it might be seen as spamming but i will pm you) this will not be free but i can give you my help at cost price. i will pm you now:rolleyes:september:£22 jackpotjoy,screensaver,£50 thomas cook voucher0

Check out Google Sites,
"No HTML required Creating a Google Site is as easy as editing a document, which means there's no markup language for you to learn -- just get started."
Its Free, you are in control - as you say you need to update it regularly, and its easy.
Good luck with your business idea.

Get some free hosting from somewhere like Freehostia and use either Joomla or Wordpress. This will allow you to try out your idea without it costing you any money.
Wordpress doesn't have to be used as a blog, it can be used for other web sites too, just create pages instead of blog posts.0 -

If you want to build a website that allows for subscriptions, you will probably need to go beyond the free hosting providers. Have a look at the Dot Net Nuke system, its basically a opensource way of constructing a website. Lots of hosting providers will set it up on your account for no extra charge and there are plenty of free templates and modules (like little programs) for it. You can set up a subscription service on it with paypal using the basic system without having to buy any add-ons. I have used it quite a lot before, any questions feel free to PM me.0

What's the idea? Could it take off in other areas?0

Yeah LewisLover, the idea could well take off in other areas. Some places such as the bigger cities have something that does the job already, but perhaps not smaller towns.
Obviously don't want to divulge too much incase someone half-inches my idea!0
