Nationwide Esaver

Thinking of putting 33k in Nationwide esaver. Do they do monthly interest? If not can anyone recommend a high paying monthly income account with a "brand" name. Don't really fancy Iceland or India !!! :D

No tie up with halifax/HBOS. Already have account there.

The Nationwide e-Saver is only just over 5% isn't it?

I looked at their e-Bond at 6.5% but was put off because of the need for a current account, as is the case with the e-Saver.

This link may give you some ideas of other rates with the "Heinz" :D accounts.

If you can lock it up for 6 months then NW do 6 month fixed rate bonds paying around 6.5% - you don't need a NW current account for these.

My impression is that Icelandic and Indian banks have not been in as much difficulty as British banks recently, and I find my dealings with Icesave and Icici somewhat easier than with certain British institutions.

    Yes.

Two more (instant access) accounts for you to consider:

Egg Savings @ 6.3% AER fixed for 12 months (but no withdrawal penalties)

Tesco Internet Saver @ 6.25% AER (including bonus for the first year)
